SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Payroll Technician reports to the Payroll Director. The Payroll Technician processes payroll for multiple clients, as well as new hire paperwork, reporting, and e-verify.
Key Results Areas (KRA's):
Transactions
Updating CRM on a continual basis to document all activity
Keep updated on system changes and industry trends to ensure proper processing for clients
Responsible for trouble shooting Payroll problems which entails making the decision to place a call, follow up on the course of action, and maintain accurate logs and file of actions taken
Reviews accuracy of all payroll related withholdings including benefits, child support, etc
Reviews and approves manual calculations for special payroll or benefit requirements; coordinates and approves supplemental payrolls
Assist with the preparation of annual W-2 forms and related reports
Answers questions and provides information to clients and employees (external) regarding payroll procedures
Attends training seminars relating to payroll processing and payroll system
Communicates with clients to rectify questions or concerns relating to payroll
Enters new employees into the Darwin system in a timely manner to ensure other departments can function properly
Process eVerify checks within 3 days of the employee's hire date and communicates with HR Director to ensure thatEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
