A Georgetown law firm seeks a real estate paralegal.
Qualifications:
o2
years experience as a paralegal or legal secretary at a real estate law firm
oAssociates in paralegal or Bachelor's required
oProfessional in appearance and demeanor, both internally and externally
oAbility to think and act proactively and anticipate the needs of attorneys and guests
oExcellent organization skills
oExcellent computer skills (MS Office Suite)
oFlexibility to work overtime when necessary
oKnowledge of basic accounting principles and familiarity with accounting software

years experience in a law firm setting
o2
years as a accounting/bookkeeper
DAY TO DAY
Responsibilities:
oHandle switchboard and address each callers needs
oPrepare real estate closings
oEnter attorney's billable time, paying invoices, generating monthly billing, and reconciling accounts on a monthly basis.
oDraft correspondence, perform research, and pro-active with telephone calls.
oProven record handling confidential matters.
oMaintain and organize files in hardcopy and electronic format.
oDemonstrated team work ability
oAbility to work in at fast pace environment and complete tasks by deadlines.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
