Manufacturing Excellence Leader (PL15)
NOTE: PL for this position will be commensurate with the experience. The PL could range from 13 ? 15.
Position Scope:
The ME Leader is a senior technical resource within the ME team supporting one of the Georgetown Mill's Business Units. The ME process uses lean and six sigma concepts to help the mill better identify, prioritize, and implement key process, reliability, and cost improvement projects. This specific position works within a larger ME team, which may require cross functional responsibilities. The position reports to the Manager of Manufacturing Excellence.
Position Responsibilities:
The ME Leader will work closely with a variety of different areas throughout the mill including operations, maintenance, technical, and management.
Provide visible and active leadership in delivering excellent safety results
Identify, develop, manage and deliver sustainable cost savings targeted at achieving year over year cost reduction through:
Multiple Capital projects
Multiple non-capital deliberate and continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with the mills goal of year over year (YOY) cost reduction
Provide resources for cost reduction capital project development and implementation
Support the development and provide delivery of the Mill ME Belt training targets and goals for both hourly and salary employees
Manage and develop college hires (REACH)
Achieve ME certifications (Green & Black Belts)
Serve as a coach for employees working on their Belt projects
Maintain strong relationships with other ME leaders as well as operating and maintenance department leaders
Influence Business Unit operations teams to utilize ME tools and processes to support successful project delivery and sustainability of improvements
Identify and implement Manufacturing Excellence best practices from across the mill, business, and company
Support the mill and business unit 5S program by holding self and direct reports accountable to 5S standards in their offices and work areas, drive improvement projects and complete an audit each week
Implement systems to improve/sustain results
Support operations during field day and the annual outage.
Fulfill weekend duty as scheduled
Provide support for budgeting cycle targeted at delivering year over year savings
Desired Skills:

Utilize the International Paper Change Process to drive change
Utilize structured Project Management to plan, resource and deliver projects and initiatives
Self-starter, team player, strong coach
Possess Manufacturing Excellence (ME) Green Belt certification
Utilize strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks effectively
Required Experience:
Ten (10) years of operations, maintenance, and/or engineering experience in a paper manufacturing environment is required. Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent practical experience required. Lean/six sigma certifications a plus, with IP ME certifications a strong plus.
Position level will vary based on experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
