JOB SCOPE / PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Regional Vice President (RVP), the General Manager (GM) is responsible for the strategic, fiscal and operational leadership of their respective division. The GM will establish and implement an Operational Plan and will hold P&L responsibility for their respective division, ultimately driving stakeholder value. The GM will focus on profitable revenue while implementing robust management processes, continuous improvement approaches and formal planning and accountability rhythms for safety, operations, and human resources.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure an outstanding health, safety and environmental performance thru active engagement and total ownership of the safety program and culture across the divisions footprint
Understand and communicate safety metrics to assess opportunities and performance
Own team development within Division. Specifically, attract, hire, lead, support, train, develop, motivate and retain employees by driving, monitoring and evaluating performance, assessing developmental opportunities, and coaching or disciplining as necessary
Maintain proper staffing (talent type count) to meet Divisional objectives effectively and efficiently
Drive profit growth within Division thru commercial excellence. Working closely with sales and actively engaging with customers to deliver on defined growth strategy as a team. This includes, new customer acquisition, expansion of existing customer relationships, pricing initiatives, proposals, new commercial offerings and team based customer issue resolution
Ensure all physical property and equipment are properly maintained and are in safe working condition
Lead and ensure optimal service delivery, cost & cash management across the division. This includes owning customer satisfaction, proactive event & resource planning, maximizing resource productivity and utilization, driving excellent billing quality and timeliness, accounts payables & receivables management and adhering to established processes, procedures, and standards.
Understand and review financial metrics to assess opportunities and performance
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Tools, equipment, machinery used: Large industrial cleaning equipment and materials, large industrial vehicles, and computers and basic computer systems (Word, Excel, etc).
Working conditions: Normal office environment (on-site and off-site locations), outside work, extreme temperatures, noisy conditions, shift work, flexible schedules, on-call hours, 24/7 availability.
Physical effort required: Some heavy lifting, working with large machinery, confined spaces, and heights.
Travel required: Geographical territories can range in size depending on the customer base. Overnight travel will be required for this position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree preferred, preferably in engineering or industrial field.
Excellent communication skills and computer skills (Microsoft office)
5 - 10 years operations experience
3 - 5 years in management
Must possess good administrative, public relations, and technical skills necessary to enhance overall operations
Must have valid drivers license and good driving record
